Why is Don Mathews smiling after yet another Argos loss? Has he forgotten that's HIS defense Anthony Calvillo is carving up? Has he forgotten he's forgotten the Magic Wand to turn Toronto around? I just hope The Don isn't spying...because Anthony Calvillo has developed one bad habit I just noticed---when he looks to the sideline for Coach Trestman's calls, AC is sometimes speaking the play out to himself. That means prying CFL eyes, lip-readers and secret cameras could soon be zeroing in on AC. Playoff defenses will surely follow.

Wayne Gretzky asked about his memories of Patrick Roy says "they're all bad!" But despite that '93 Cup loss as a King, Wayne tells CJAD he's got great memories of his first visits to the Forum. "Doug Jarvis is from my hometown and when I came to Montreal for the first time he showed me around. Then two years later I'm back for the Summit Series and following around some of their greats!"

Francis Bouillon has seen the Georges Laraque Show before. "Back in Hull we always had trouble there until Georges took on their tough-guy and after that we all played taller and bigger."

George has been quick to speak about the pride he takes in playing before his Hockey Mom. But the enforcer admits she was looking the other way just 7 seconds into his first shift in Bleu, Blanc, Rouge. "Yes she's used to it, but no mother likes to see her son get in a fight."

The Grey Cup Village Countdown Calender shows just 36 days left. And that means Eastern Final is just 4 weeks away.

The Don smiling? It was great to see him embrace Bryan Chiu and Anwar Stewart after the Als' win in the Fan Train Game.

If you've never been on the Fan Train, I highly recommend it for next season. You won't get too many other chances to rub shoulders and libations with Montreal's pro athletes.

Some people were actually cutting down that touching tribute to the Ring of Honour Inductees? I can't believe it. It was under-stated yet emotional. The Flower, the Roadrunner, M. Beliveau hidden in the dark with their soon-to-be fawning fans...while on the ice Butch Bouchard pulls himself out of his wheelchair? I know I said the Canadiens "do ceremony better than the Pope" but I don't expect the Resurrection of Morenz and the Rocket!
